It’s that time of year again, Halloween! As eager souls ready their costumes, aficionados are readying their cigars. Limited-edition Halloween cigars hit stands hard at the turn of the season including the Tatuaje Monster Series, Viaje, and Devil’s Night.
Now in its 8th installment, the Tatuaje Hyde cigar, named after the evil alter-ego of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Dr. Jekyll, is a 7 inch by 49 ring gauge smoke. 666 adorned picture boxes containing 13 cigars with Mr. Hyde drawings boast an all-Nicaraguan filler. The binder is wrapped in Ecuadoran Sumatra leaf and the head is shaped like a Cuban 109 belicoso. Cigars have a suggested $13 retail price.
This year, Viaje presented a Full Moon cigar accented with a bright orange pumpkin. Packed neatly into a large black box stamped with quite a sinister jack-o-lantern head, each cigar retails for $11.42. Also made with authentic Nicaraguan tobacco, the Full Moon measures at 5 inches with a 58 ring gauge. This true limited edition masterpiece is only available through 5 pre-approved retailers.
Finally, we have Devil’s Night. Brought to you by Asylum Cigars co-owner Tom Lazuka, Devil’s Night is a cigar with a story. Due to the overwhelming number of fires that occur annually on October 30, a portion of sales will be donated to a local Detroit fire department in support of their efforts. Devil’s Night cigars come in two sizes: the smaller 5 1/2 by 46 and a larger 6 by 52. Unlike the previous two cigars, this model is made entirely of Honduran tobaccos. Only 500 boxes of 10 were produced, retailing at $11 and $13. Devil’s Night releases tonight at Jenuine Cigar Bar locations.
